Lake Tahoe...a summer paradise!

Each summer, we try to attend the National Asphalt and Paving Association's midyear meeting- and this year, they made it easy on us! It was at Lake Tahoe! We got a chance to stay on the North Shore at Incline Village! What a treat!

The water was pretty cold from the massive snow melt, but pretty to look at!

Ivy enjoyed looking at the geese on the beach, but would not touch the sand. She sat on my lap on the beach chair to be further from the sand!

Our neighbors at home, Stan and Lenore, also have a cabin on the North Shore, so Ivy and I went to visit them there. We really loved the cabin and sitting on their beautiful deck. The blue jays are trained to get peanuts off of the railing- so Ivy reached into a coffee can and got handfuls of them at a time.

Here she is, feeding the birds!

The hotel was lovely, and Ivy enjoyed pointing out the bear and fish every time we walked by.

There was a cool pier that jutted out into the water with a floating bar at the end of it- nice for a few minutes, but a bit sloshy for me.

We got o spend a lot of time with our friends the Lemon Family from Oklahoma, who also joined us at our cabin for a few days. Ivy took to the Lemon kids immediately, especially Kate!

If you've thought about hiking down to the Vikingsholm Castle with a 2 year old, think again. Down was bad enough, but carrying her all the way up that hill was brutal. Oh, and I dropped my camera!

Here's Ivy in her pajamas, at the cabin!

We try to stroll down to the bridge to look for fish every day.

So Brian and Jack took up fly fishing...

But the fish were pretty safe.

Ivy loved playing in nature while we were there- such an adventure!

In an effort to keep her entertained while all the fishing was happening, Kate made some things out of tin foil for Ivy to play with... like this biscuit with a blob sticking out of it that Ivy insisted was a birthday cake.

And she made lots of soup...

Like this!

And she found a walking stick and walked in the stream.

It was a wonderful weekend!
